Townley Grammar · Parents & Friends Association · Charity 1212663
Small association. Big difference.
We're the parent-led charity behind Townley Grammar School. Everything we raise — through donations, events and sponsorships — goes straight back to the students, as books, equipment, experiences and opportunities.
Members' notice
Our first Annual General Meeting
Every member is invited. This is where you receive our first accounts and trustees' annual report, and elect the trustees who run the PFA.
- Date
- Wednesday 23 September 2026
- Time
- 7.00 pm
- Where
- Main Hall, Townley Grammar School
Townley Road, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7AB - Online
- Microsoft Teams
Link emailed to members before the meeting
The online setup depends entirely on the school's facilities, so we cannot guarantee its quality. If you can, please come in person — and if you cannot, appointing a proxy is the surest way for your voice to count.
Why we need you there
Our constitution says the meeting cannot make any decisions unless at least 18 members are present — its quorum. If we fall short, we cannot elect the trustees and have to adjourn and hold the meeting again.
This date cannot move: the law gives a new charity eighteen months to hold its first AGM, and ours runs out on 24 September. It will not be a long evening, and you do not need to prepare anything.
What the meeting will cover
- Welcome, apologies, and confirming we have enough members present
- Receiving the trustees' annual report and the accounts for 24 March 2025 to 31 August 2026
- Electing the trustees
- A short report from the Chair on the year ahead
- Your questions
Can't come? Appoint a proxy
A proxy attends and votes on your behalf, and counts towards the 18. It takes one reply.
Reply to the AGM notice we emailed you on 6 September, from the address it was sent to, with these words:
I, [your full name] of [your address], appoint the Chair of the meeting [or: appoint [name of another member]] as my proxy to attend, speak and vote on my behalf at the Annual General Meeting of the Townley Parents and Friends Association on 23 September 2026.
Please send it by 5pm on Tuesday 22 September. Your reply from your own email address is all the authentication we need, and your proxy can use their judgement on how to vote unless you tell them otherwise.

Who we are
Parents and friends, working for our students
The Townley Parents & Friends Association (PFA) is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers. We work in partnership with the school to provide the activities, equipment and experiences that enrich every student's education — the extras that budgets alone can't always stretch to.
We're a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, which simply means we're an independent charity in our own right, governed by a committee of parents and accountable to the Charity Commission. You don't need to be on the committee to make a difference — donating, coming to an event, or passing on outgrown uniform all add up.
More about us
Your money at work
What your support pays for
We fund things right across the school — wherever a department or a group of students needs a hand. Recent examples include:
Transport & big projects
Game-changing items the school couldn't fund alone — like our new minibus, by far the largest grant we've ever made.
Science equipment
Microscopes and kits so every class can get hands-on with practical science.
Library & books
Fresh, diverse titles and reading-for-pleasure books chosen by students.
Music & arts
Instruments and materials that open up ensembles, exhibitions and the arts.
Sport & enrichment
Team kit and equipment for fixtures, clubs and Sports Day.
Your support at work

- £15,995 — Minibus (Head Teacher)
- £8,500 — Film/Media computers (Whole school and Film/Media)
- £7,400 — 27 Windows Laptops and 3 Charging Caddies for DT and Engineering (Design and Technology and Engineering)
