For school staff

Ask the PFA to fund something

If there is something your department needs and the school budget will not stretch to it, tell us. Every penny we raise is spent on students at Townley, and this is how we decide where it goes.

  1. You confirm your school email address. We send a six-digit code; it takes a few seconds.
  2. You fill the form in. Ten minutes, and the detail is worth it — the committee decides on what is written here.
  3. We email you straight away with a copy of what you sent and a reference.
  4. The grants team reads it and takes it to the next committee meeting. We email you the decision, and we ask if we need more detail.
Before you start, the trustees will need two things.
  • Three quotes for anything over £100. At least three quotes from different providers, so the committee can see the money is well spent. Have the supplier names and prices to hand — you can add them on the form. If you do not have them yet, you can still submit and send them before the committee meets, but the request cannot be decided without them.
  • Evidence that it worked. If we fund it, you commit to showing us the difference it made. Photographs of students using what was funded are the best evidence of all — they are how we show the parents who raised the money what it bought. Please only send photographs of students the school has photo consent for.
First, confirm you work at the school

Grant requests come from Townley Grammar staff, so we send a code to your school address before showing the form. It stops anyone outside the school asking in your name — and stops anyone inside it asking in somebody else's.

It must be your @townleygrammar.org.uk school address — that is where the decision goes, and where we ask if we need a quote. PFA committee members can use their @townleypta.co.uk address.
