11+ Familiarisation Exams · 2026
A calm, confident practice run
Our familiarisation sessions give children the chance to sit a realistic 11+ paper under proper exam conditions — taking the fear out of the real thing. Every place booked also raises money for the school.
Why it helps
Familiarity beats nerves
For many children, the hardest part of the 11+ isn't the questions — it's the unfamiliar setting. A practice run makes the real exam feel like something they've already done.
Real exam conditions
A timed paper in a hall, with invigilators and the same routines as the real day.
Useful feedback
Children leave knowing what to expect, and where a little more practice could help.
Supports the school
Run by PFA volunteers, with all proceeds going straight back to Townley students.
Good to know
Frequently asked
Who is it for?
Children preparing to sit the 11+ for entry to secondary school. You don't need to be applying to Townley to take part.
When are the 2026 sessions?
Dates for 2026 will be confirmed here and on our Facebook and LinkedIn. Book early — places are limited and tend to go quickly.
What happens on the day?
Children sit a familiarisation paper under exam conditions. Parents and carers are looked after while they wait, and you'll receive guidance on what to expect from the real exam.
