Financial transparency & efficiency

Almost every pound reaches a student

We're determined that the money you give does the maximum possible good. We're all volunteers, we pay no salaries, and we hunt down every charity discount going — so our running costs stay tiny.

£0 on salaries

Every single person involved in the PFA is a volunteer. We pay no wages, fees or benefits to anyone — not a penny.

Costs kept tiny

Our only real fixed cost is the website. Software and infrastructure are donated or charity-discounted to zero wherever we can manage it.

Maximum impact

Because overheads are so low, the overwhelming majority of every donation goes straight to the school as grants.

What it costs us to run

Here's an honest summary of where our money goes before it reaches the students. We keep this list short on purpose.

WhatCostNotes
Salaries & benefits £0 We are entirely volunteer-run — no one is paid.
Website & second-hand uniform shop £230 / year Currently hosted on Wix. We're actively moving to a cheaper setup to cut this down.
Card payment processing Reduced charity rates We use the charity rates from PayPal and Stripe, with no monthly fees, to keep the cost of each donation as low as possible.
Event ticketing Per-ticket fee We use Ticket Tailor for event bookings; it charges a small fee per ticket sold.
Email & Office software £0 Provided free through Microsoft's charity programme — all our email and Office apps cost us nothing.
Claude AI Pro subscription £180 / year An AI assistant that speeds up the volunteer workload — preparing accounts, drafting communications and running this website — so our small team can do far more with the time we have.

Always looking for savings. We treat the PFA's money the way we'd treat our own. If there's a cheaper, better way to do something, we'll switch to it — and you'll see it reflected here.
