27 Windows Laptops and 3 Charging Caddies for DT and Engineering

This is a request for 27 Windows Laptops and 3 charging Caddies to house them in.

£7,400PFA grant
75%of the total cost
Design and Technology and Engineeringwho it helped

Shared funding. The PFA covered 75% of this cost and the school funded the rest. We often part-fund grants on purpose, so our money goes further and the school has a stake in spending it well.

This is a request for 27 Windows Laptops and 3 charging Caddies to house them in. The Windows laptops will help many students during their Design and Technology and Engineering lessons as they only have Chrome Books which unfortunately do not support the software used in the Department. The students need to use "Circuit Wizard" in Yr 9, Key Stage 4 and 5 whilst programming, downloading to the physical Circuit Boards and simulating circuitry. For Engineering GCSE this is critical and there are only 10 pcs in Rm 9 with groups of 27. We have other groups that need to use Pcs at the same time. Another piece of software is "Techsoft" which is used by every year group which outputs to the Laser cutters. The issue at the moment is that students are sent to other rooms far away from their workshop, that have PCs in them to complete the work. They are then unsupervised and unable to ask for help when needed. They also need to access the machinery and tools whilst also being able to refer to their Technical drawings on Techsoft, at the same time.
