PE equipment - GoPro camera
While the use of video recording equipment is essential for fulfilling the practical assessment requirements of the GCSE and A Level PE curriculum, schools are not directly funded for specialist equipment of this kind.
While the use of video recording equipment is essential for fulfilling the practical assessment requirements of the GCSE and A Level PE curriculum, schools are not directly funded for specialist equipment of this kind. Budget constraints within the core PE allocation mean that most funds are prioritised for essential teaching resource and maintenance of facilities. The purchase of a GoPro camera represents a one-off, high-quality investment that falls outside the scope of regular departmental spending. Given the increasing demands for high-resolution video evidence by exam boards—particularly for external moderation—and the importance of providing all students equal access to this support, we believe this is a necessary enhancement to our provision. Additional funding from the PTA would enable us to purchase this resource without diverting limited curriculum funds away from other critical needs. It also ensures that students from all backgrounds can meet the same assessment standards, especially those who may not have access to personal filming equipment at home. This funding would support not just curriculum delivery, but also wider student development by enhancing lesson quality, improving performance analysis, and helping us celebrate student achievement more effectively. ****** Mrs. Hawkey seems to have taken the price from the Ultrawide model, but we recommend the "normal" Hero13 with the Accessories bundle, which is cheaper and should provide the same functionality, particularly because it includes a key set of accessories: https://gopro.com/en/gb/shop/cameras/buy/hero13black/CHDHX-131-master.html?option-id=CHDRB-131-master
