PTA Bid: Running Spikes for PE Department We are requesting funding to purchase a set of running spikes for the PE department to support students participating in athletics competitions during the summer term. These specialist shoes improve traction and running efficiency, helping students perform at their best during both training and competitive events. Running spikes typically cost between £30 and £50 per pair. We would like to purchase 10 pairs in a range of sizes to ensure they can be used by as many students as possible. This would give us a flexible, reusable set of footwear that can be shared across year groups and events. Many students do not have access to their own running spikes due to the cost, and providing school-owned pairs would remove this barrier. It would ensure that all students—regardless of their financial situation—have the opportunity to compete on equal footing in both amateur and elite-level athletics competitions. In addition to the physical performance benefits, having the appropriate footwear contributes to students' confidence and self-esteem. It supports a sense of belonging and pride when representing the school in sport. We believe this is a valuable and inclusive investment in our students' development and would be grateful for the PTA’s support. Student Surveys or Testimonials: Short surveys or quotes from students who used the spikes, reflecting on their experience, confidence, and sense of pride representing the school. Photographic Evidence: Photos from competitions showing students using the spikes with captions or short case studies (ensure consent and safeguarding guidelines are followed). Parental Feedback (if possible): Any comments from parents noting increased enthusiasm or confidence in their children.
